I’ve been at my current job for about 5 and a half years now and for my 5th year anniversary, I got to choose a free gift from the company from a catalog. I chose a wall clock. It might’ve been because it fell the first time I mounted it, or because it was manufactured defectively, but the clock is screwed. It ticks, but for every tick forward, it does a tick backwards right after. So basically, the hands never move. They just stay right where they are, ticking away. If that isn’t a bloody sign from God that I need to leave my dead-end job at some point then I dont know what is.”
