Expertise is demonstrated, not merely claimed—you show it by being able to answer detailed questions, engage with complications, and explain your reasoning thoroughly. Speaking authoritatively on a topic requires actually being knowledgeable about it.
If you speak beyond your competence, your credibility suffers. Before attempting to persuade German colleagues or partners on a topic, make sure you genuinely understand it. Know your subject deeply.
