Friends Who Rebuke

Nagudhar poruttandru nattal migudhikkan merchendru iditthar poruttu. Friendship is not for laughing together. It is for stepping in to rebuke a friend who goes too far. This is couplet 784 of the Thirukkural, in its chapter on friendship.
