In the Yuddha Kanda of the Valmiki Ramayana, Hanuman returns from Lanka with news of Sita. Rama praises him. Then he says: “Let me at least embrace this magnanimous Hanuman.” The embrace, he adds, “is all that is easily obtained from me.”
