After HealthCare.gov

In October 2013 the federal health insurance website, HealthCare.gov, failed at its launch. On August 11, 2014, the White House launched the U.S. Digital Service. It was led by Mikey Dickerson, who had helped fix the site.

The White House also released a Digital Services Playbook of 13 “plays” for government projects. Play 4 reads: “Build the service using agile and iterative practices.” Its text says: “We should use an incremental, fast-paced style of software development to reduce the risk of failure.”
