Harald Lesch holds a chair of astronomy and astrophysics at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He is also one of the best-known faces of science on German television. From 1998 to 2007 he presented the series alpha-Centauri on BR-alpha. Since 2009 he has presented Terra X: Faszination Universum on ZDF, and later his own series, Leschs Kosmos. In 2005 the German Research Foundation and the Stifterverband gave him their Communicator Prize.
