The responses you receive on UC are based on our own research, developed over many years of work. AI serves only as a tool to locate, organize, and articulate the content in our knowledge base.
Here is how it works:
We upload our research-based content to OpenAI, where it is converted into what are called vectors—mathematical representations of meaning. These vectors are then sent to Pinecone, a company that indexes and securely stores them for fast retrieval.
When a query is entered into UC’s search box, OpenAI interprets the question and converts it also into a vector. That vector is then sent to Pinecone to check if it matches with any of UC’s stored vectors.
If relevant matches are found, Pinecone sends them back to OpenAI, which then retrieves the related content from UC. OpenAI articulates that content in clear, natural language. The knowledge those responses contain originates from our own analysis.
The essential point is the following:
UC responses come exclusively from our research-based insights. We do not allow OpenAI to enrich those responses with information from its own knowledge base or from any other web-based sources.
Based on our testing thusfar, we see only our analytical voice in UC responses. Because we know our analysis, we can immediately detect any content that does not come from our research. So far, none has appeared.
We will continue to monitor OpenAI’s behavior closely to ensure that our original, research-based insights remain protected and represented accurately.
