You did the Four Numbers exercise. Now plug in some numbers.
First, you wrote your baseline number in the top-left quandrant. It’s in USD or Euro.
Key Success Factors
Second, you listed in the bottom-left quadrant the key success factors. Assign a % to each success factor. The total may not exceed 100%. Then multiply each % by your target number. This gives you a $ or € number for each success factor.
Based on Collaboration
Third, in the top-right quadrant you listed those factors dependent on cross-border collaboration. Assign a % to each success factor. The total may exceed 100% since you are estimating for each factor independent of each other.
Then multiply each % by that success factor’s contribution to the target number as estimated in the bottom-left quandrant. This gives you a $ or € number for collaboration’s contribution to each success factor.
Influence of Culture
Fourth, estimate the influence of cultural differences on collaboration. That influence may vary. Cultural differences in one area of collaboration may be more important than in another. Assign a % to each success factor.
Then multiply that % by the degree to which each success factor is based on collaboration, as quantified in the top-right quandrant. This gives you a $ or € number for the influence of culture on collaboration for that success factor. Add up those numbers. You have quantified (an estimation) the influence of cultural differences on collaboration.
