Take a piece of printer paper. Unlined. Fold it in half. Twice. Open it up. Turn the paper to the landscape position. You have quandrants.
First, what is your baseline number? Take your organization’s most important current project. Important because it is critical to overall success. It has a number. Write that number in the top-left quandrant.
Key Success Factors
Second, what are the key success factors? In the bottom-left quadrant list max. five factors. These are the things which the project team must do well in order to succeed. In other words, to meet the baseline number.
Third, which factors are dependent on cross-border collaboration? In the top-right quadrant list those success factors which are dependent on collaboration. Sketch out per factor, on a separate piece of paper, who is working with whom, on what, why, and how.
Fourth, how are you supporting that collaboration? In the bottom-right quadrant write down the actions your organization is taking in order to make sure that those colleagues understand the influence of cultural differences on their collaboration.
